Dear Grace Families,
We had a great first day! Here are a few things we wanted you to know:
Senior Handbooks & Orientation
If you have a rising Senior, please pick up your Senior notebook in the office. There is also an Orientation for Seniors, Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.
Town Council Meeting
The Town Council Meeting July 12th went well. Please continue to send your letters of support to bdaniel@ graceacademync.com. The decision from the Town Council has been postponed until September 13th. We will update everyone as soon as we know!
Carpool, Pick-up and Drop-off
All new and returning families need to check out the carpool map under the "Parents" tab, "Handbook" section on our website. We have a new carpool line this year and it is very important that everyone follows the carpool procedures. Here are a few helpful hints:
You must display your green carpool sign with your student's names displayed. Once your students are in, flip your sign over so we know you are ready to go.
All students must go thru carpool unless they are a student driving their own car.
All traffic must enter and exit on McDowell Street for drop-off and pick-up. There is NO thru traffic in the back parking lot.
If you would like to park and walk your student in, please park in the back parking lot and enter thru the Sadie Dr. doors. However, keep in mind, for all regular carpool pick-up and drop-off, students will be entering the building thru the "Carpool Foyer" next to the two playgrounds.

Labor Day
There will be no classes, Monday, September 6 and Tuesday, September 7. Be sure to check out the Grace booth at Matthews Alive.
Books for Fall
Be sure to check the website for an updated Course Description & Book list. There is also a link under "Grace Weekly Highlights" that lists all the used books for sale. Parents are responsible for purchasing all books needed for classes. If you have any Grace curriculum you would like to sell, please send book titles, prices and your contact information to Rachael Mangione at: Mangione@graceacademync.com
Common Ground
Common Ground is an exciting, relevant Bible study for 7th - 12th grade students hosted by Gracesprings Church and Grace Academy. We want to invite you to come out and connect with us on Thursday nights, 7:00 - 8:00 PM, as we deal with the tough questions and seek to build a real relationship with God. Join us Thursday nights at Gracesprings Church, 855 Sam Newell Road, Suite 100, Matthews, NC.
