English III Honors (10-12)

During the first semester, students will complete a research paper using the MLA (Modern Language Association) format. This will include choosing a topic, forming a thesis statement, researching the topic, creating an outline, and writing a research paper using in-text citation. In the second semester, students will analyze four literary works covering various genres. There will be an in-depth focus on author’s voice, style, and language use.

In an effort to prepare students for college, students will also improve their grammar and vocabulary skills, as well as develop a writing portfolio.

This course focuses on advanced literature and composition. Students will analyze literary works including an American play and a European novel. Students will learn various types of composition, including narrative and descriptive essays. In addition, practical writing such as resume and cover letter preparation will be covered.

This course focuses on advanced literature and composition topics. Students will analyze poetry from poets such as Wordsworth, Dickinson, Frost, and Poe. Students will analyze and critique literary works, including both novel studies and short stories, and several nonfiction historical texts.

Enrichment (K-3)

Enrichment is a fun and exciting time for K-3rd Grade students from 12:35-2:00. Students will eat lunch together, socialize and participate in enrichment activities.

Essentials of College Math (Grades 11-12) (4 Days)

(Prerequisite: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Grace Academy Issued Placement Test) – This course emphasizes understanding of math concepts rather than just memorizing procedures. This equips them with higher-order thinking to apply math skills, functions and concepts in different situations.

Fashion/Interior Design (7-8)

In the first semester different interior design style types will be covered. Then using the style types, students will integrate space utilization, furniture placement, accessories, sketching, and personal taste.

Forensic Science (9-12)

(Prerequisite: Physical Science and may be taken with Biology) – This course is designed to introduce the student to the use of various scientific methods and approaches used to solve crimes occurring in the world around us.
