September 4, 2018

Hello Wonderful Families,

We pray you all had a nice, long weekend! Please read the important information below.

Information Meeting
If you know of someone interested in Grace Academy, please let them know about our next information meeting, Thursday, September 6 at 7:00 PM. All are welcome!

Text Message through Remind
We will be sending a welcome text message this week. This is new system that we will use to notify parents in the event of an emergency such as school closing, etc. Other than a test message, we will only send text messages when there is an emergency or something that we need to communicate quickly. We will continue to send an email as well.

Carline Congrats!
Parents, Grandparents and caregivers are doing a great job so far in carline! Everyone has been driving slow, paying attention and using their signs! Thank you!

We will have Chapel this Wednesday, September 5. This first Chapel will be as follows:

2nd period K-8 grade students
3rd period 9-12 grade students

Chapel is a wonderful time of worship and teaching.

High School Lift Off
We are very excited to raise the bar of expectation for our 9-12 grade students at our High School Lift Off, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 from 1:00-8:30 PM. This event is to build up our students in their faith, hang with new and old friends, eat, play, worship, and have fun! All 9th-12th grade students are expected to attend this mandatory day of fun! If you have questions, please contact Bre Waters at:

The PSAT will be offered at Grace Academy on Wednesday, October 17 from 8:20–12:30. All 10th and 11th graders who are interested in taking the PSAT should sign up starting August 22, 2018 through September 6, 2018 (or until all spots are taken). The cost of taking the PSAT is $20.00. Please put cash or check payment in an envelope with student name and PSAT written on the envelope. Turn in at the Welcome Desk.

College Day
Attention 9th-12th grade students, College Day is coming!
Grace Academy will host our 6th annual College Fair on Thursday, September 6 from 8:45 AM-12:15 PM. All 9th-12th graders and their parents are invited to attend. Students who have a math class at Grace Academy during 1st-4th period will have an opportunity to attend the college fair with their math class. If your student has a 5th period math class or takes math outside of Grace Academy, please encourage your student to attend before or after a class or during break time at 10:20.

Student Leadership Team
Do you have leadership qualities and do you enjoy serving the Lord by serving others in your community? The Student Leadership Team may be just for you! Students in grades 6th-12th may apply. The application is due by 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 13. Students may get an application at the Welcome Desk or on our website at:

Once the deadline has occurred, the student leadership team will be chosen. Applicants will be notified via email. Please see Mrs. Christie Lewis with questions.

Running Club
Grace Academy welcomes all 7th-12th graders to join us for a running club/couch to 5k called “Running on Faith” beginning this Wednesday, September 5 from 2:00-3:15. Please be dressed to start walk/running! We will meet for 8 weeks and learn the mechanics of running in addition to how it can help us physically, mentally, and spiritually. We will run the HeroRun 5k in Charlotte on October 27 as the grand finale. All family members are welcome to run with us at the 5K. We have a 75% off group discount code for all those interested! We encourage you to fellowship and train together. The cost of the club will be $20 and the 5k-entry fee, less than $10. For more information and to sign up for this club, please contact Ms. Heather Plyler, avid runner and our high school math teacher at:
